Snow date: March 30, 2008

Student Activities:

Beading – Work with beads of all sizes, sorts, and colors to create bracelets, necklaces, and hair accessories.

Chemistry of Tye-dyeing - Begin with basic instruction in tye-dyeing and then create your own design on a t-shirt. You will take home your creation.

Come to the Masquerade!– Design and make your own hand held paper mask. Samples of Native American, African and religious masks will help guide your creation.

Design Prom Dresses– We have a plentiful supply of prom magazines for ideas and “paper girls” to trace. Use a large array of colored pencils – many beautiful colors including metallic.

Fun with Desktop Publishing– Learn how to design personalized stationery and labels. The formatting of graphics, fonts, word art, and drawing will be used to create this project. Take home a personalized packet of stationery and address labels.

Lip Gloss Lab– Learn the history and function of the elements used in making lip gloss. Create lip gloss in the chemistry lab to take home with you.

Sports are Fun– Visit our NEW gymnasium to play some of the fun sporting activities the girls enjoy at Mercy. Please wear sneakers.

Theater Workshop – “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Just like the TV show, we’ll learn drama techniques using improv games, props, music and funny costumes. Don’t be shy, it’s show time and you’re the star!
