GUIDANCE SERVICES

Each member of the Guidance Department is concerned with the total Christian education of the student. There is genuine and dedicated interest on the part of the staff and a willingness to see students and parents at any time. Counselors see their students several times during the school year about their courses, especially if they are having difficulties. They also advise and counsel their students on other matters of concern including personal issues, testing, career aspirations, and scheduling.

Students are provided with individual counseling and assistance from the Guidance Counselors, in the area of future educational and/or career planning. Direct contact with guidance counselors, faculty members, and computer programs (for college and career choices) is available. College and career school representatives visit Mercy High School to talk with interested students. A calendar of scheduled visits is publicized in the school. In addition, students are encouraged to visit colleges and places of business which satisfy their personal preference.
