Library Media Center
“Mercy is a place to learn surrounded by caring friends and leaders.” - Mercy Student
In the Library Media Center, Mercy High School students discover and explore the world beyond the classroom. The Library Media Center is a center of activity for students and faculty members alike, providing access to a wide array of resources designed to support the curriculum and learning environment of the school.
On a given day, Social Studies classes may be working on PowerPoint presentations, Spanish classes may be reviewing a teacher directed website for class discussion, English classes may be perusing the poetry books for an over view of a poet’s style of writing, and Religion classes may be searching journals for current articles on social justice issues.
During the school year, the Library Media Center hosts National Library Week activities, guest authors, book discussions and special events for students and faculty members.
Each fall, freshwomen participate in library orientation classes where they are introduced to research procedures, databases and library policies, including internet safety.
The Library Media Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 p.m. to allow convenient access. The comfortable space engages students in small group work or individual study. An adjoining computer lab has 25 computers for doing school related internet research or assignments.
The Library Media Center is staffed by:
