Spiritual Life and Community Service

As a Catholic school, Mercy High School exists to:

  • Spread the message of the Gospel
  • Build community
  • Provide opportunities for service to the community inside and outside the school.

Mercy welcomes students of all faiths. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the opportunities for personal and spiritual growth and to become involved in the service ministry of the school. Mercy offers frequent liturgies, prayer services, school-wide retreats and the services of a full-time Campus Minister. Peer Ministers, a leadership group of selected seniors, assist the Campus Minister with the retreat program and planning liturgies and prayer services.

Mercy students learn to develop their talents not only for themselves, but also for the good of others. By participating in service activities, students are able to experience and live out a commitment to improve the quality of life for others in the community. As a practical extension of their faith, students are required to complete 100 hours of community service prior to graduation.
