Indoor Track - Winter Athletics

The Mercy Indoor Track and Field team has been a contender for several state championships, and recently won the program's first state title in 2026.

Under the leadership of Matthew Conyers, who has been the head coach since 2019, the team has developed into one of the Southern Connecticut Conference's most consistent teams and also one of its largest.

The Tigers finally brought home their first state championship in 2026 when it defeated Woodstock Academy by 24 points.

Mercy has also won three Southern Connecticut Conference championships, including most recently in 2026.

Over the years, the Mercy Indoor Track and Field team has had several talented athletes, including some of the state's best, but it has gained a reputation for its strong team bond and its team spirit. In league and state competitions, the team has historically turned its relay strength, adaptability and pack running to compete against the top teams.

The coaching staff also includes Julia Sprout, who works with the hurdlers, and former team captain Jess Easton '22, who works with the jumper.
