Track - Spring Athletics

The Mercy Outdoor Track and Field team won the Class L state championship in 2015, but has regularly competed for state titles over the last 35 years. 

 

Under the leadership of Matthew Conyers, who took over in 2020, Mercy has finished inside the top three at the state championship meet from 2023-2026. The Tigers were runner-ups at the state championship for three straight years before finishing third this season. 

 

The team has won four Southern Connecticut Conference championships, including two straight from 2025-2026. 

 

Mercy has been known for its strong relay team and its overall running program on the track. The team has also seen over 75 percent of its school records broken in the last four years. 

 

The coaching staff includes Julia Sprout, who works with the hurdlers, and Jess Easton '22, who works with the jumpers.
