Mercy alumnae, alumnae parents, current parents, friends, faculty, and family of Mercy High from all around the country gathered at Mercy High School on Saturday, March 29th for the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Over 400 guests enjoyed a wonderful night filled with conversation, renewed friendships, laughter and the public launch of Cherishing the Past, Embracing the Future, the 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign for Mercy High School. As the “quiet phase” of the campaign comes to its close, Sr. Mary A. McCarthy, RSM, President of Mercy High School was very optimistic about the launch of the campaign. “It was a perfect evening. We celebrated Mercy and all it means and capped off the evening with the announcement of our Capital Campaign that will enhance our campus with state-of-the-art facilities and position Mercy for a bright future.”

Jack and Marion Driscoll, Campaign Chairs, came forward to address the audience. Jack was very enthusiastic to announce the gift from the Diocese of Norwich of $125,000. “I can now tell you that the gift brings total giving to 1.5 million dollars for our campaign.” This is 68% of our 2.2 million dollar goal. Jack was eager to state that it wouldn’t be a problem to exceed the goal either as all funds in excess of 2.2 million will increase the endowment.
