Today, Sr. Mary McCarthy, President of Mercy High School announced to parents a staff change in the Admissions Department.
"It is with mixed feelings that I let you know that Mrs. Diane Santostefano, Director of Admissions for ten years, is leaving Mercy. Diane has accepted the job of Hospice Program Volunteer Coordinator at Middlesex Hospital. Diane will bring many gifts to this position, especially one of great sensitivity.
Mrs. Santostefano began working at Mercy in 2007 and over the past twelve years she has been an exceptional staff member dedicated to promoting Mercy’s message of excellence. You will continue to see her at Mercy events because, in true Mercy fashion, she has already volunteered to assist with upcoming events in the capacity of current and past parent. I know her talents will truly be appreciated in her new role. Middlesex Hospital is lucky to have her!
I am excited to tell you that Mrs. Mary-Clare Wamester is our new Director of Admissions.
Mary-Clare graduated Mercy in 1997 and continued her education at the University of Connecticut in Storrs where she studied sociology and psychology and graduated with a B.A. in 2001. After college, Mary-Clare devoted her time to running her own small business in the Hartford area. In 2015, after spending years raising her four sons, Mary-Clare returned to her roots and began her employment at Mercy.
Mercy High has always been a part of her life. She would walk the hallways as a little girl, when her mother,
Kathleen Flynn Dunn '71, would bring her to Mrs. Girolamo’s preschool program in the 80’s, to attending Mass on Sunday as a family in the Mercy Auditorium, then head to her grandmother’s house at the top of Randolph Road for breakfast. Mrs. Wamester comes from a long line of family members who attended Mercy and Xavier, including her parents.
Mrs. Wamester who currently lives in Durham with her husband Tom, and four sons John, Michael, Thomas, Charlie and new puppy Rosie, is excited and tremendously honored to be our next Director of Admissions at Mercy High School."
Please join us in congratulating these two outstanding women!
