We are thrilled to share that Mercy Theology teacher Michele Dastoli ’03 has been selected to walk in Catherine McAuley’s footsteps.
This August, Dastoli will join other members of Mercy Education for a special pilgrimage to Ireland, where she will travel to destinations that highlight the life of McAuley and the beginnings of the Sisters of Mercy, including the first House of Mercy.
The pilgrimage, which is titled “Walking in Catherine’s Boots,” will not only deepen the travelers’ understanding of the Mercy charism, but bring together Mercy leaders from across the world to connect over their shared commitment to faith, justice, and service.
When asked about the trip, Dastoli was overcome with excitement about the chance to represent Mercy High School in such an important place.
"I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this pilgrimage. Walking in Catherine McAuley's footsteps alongside fellow Mercy educators will allow me to renew my commitment to the Mercy charism in a truly meaningful way. It is a privilege to travel to the heart of Mercy in Dublin and I look forward to bringing back all that I learn and experience to our Mercy Middletown community."
