At this year’s annual Halo Award Ceremony at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, the trio of Alexandria Grant ’28, Emily Arnold ’28 and Jaylen Williams ’28 received the Halo for Best Specialty Ensemble.
The sophomores, who have been a part of the last two Mercy/Xavier musicals, were recognized for their outstanding work as the Urchins in this year’s production of 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒑 𝒐𝒇 𝑯𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒓𝒔.
Every year, the Halo Awards recognize the top high school theater performances in Connecticut, and with this honor the trio joined a special group of Mercy/Xavier Drama members, who have brought home a HALO for their work in a Mercy/Xavier Musical.
After the award ceremony, we asked Mercy/Xavier Drama Co-Moderator Liam Cahill what the award meant for the group.
"As a group, we couldn't be prouder of Alex, Emily and Jaylen," Cahill said. "To see all their hard work rewarded with a honor like this is special for not just those girls, but for all of us. As a group we all lean on each other and push each other, and we know that every person helps contributes to every performance. It was a joy to watch those three bring out the best in each other and the whole company."
