Leading with Mercy

On Monday, August 29, faculty and staff gathered at the Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center for a retreat day prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year. 

President Alissa DeJonge began the morning with a prayer, then introduced guest speaker Daria Fitzgerald. Ms. Fitzgerald was warmly welcomed, having served as a world religions teacher at Mercy for eleven years prior to her current role as adjunct faculty at Sacred Heart University. After her remarks, Ms. Fitzgerald led the group in a thoughtful team-building exercise, designed to provoke contemplation and conversation.

Following lunch and update on Mercy’s upcoming NEASC accreditation process, Mass was celebrated by Fr. Greg Galvin, with all joining together in prayer for the joyful start of a new school year.  At the conclusion of Mass, President DeJonge led the rededication of the administration, faculty and staff to the ministry of Catholic secondary education in the tradition of Mercy.
