Alumna Spotlight: Catharine Wrang '15

Jul 8 2026

Thank you to Catharine Wrang MHA '15 for being part of our Alumnae Speaker Series this month! Pictured above is Catharine '15 with Assistant Principal Lauren Daniels Geary '04, who also served as Catharine's class advisor.

Catharine traveled from Boston to attend Mercy’s Medical Minds Group meeting, where she reflected on her time at Mercy and the experiences that prepared her for college and helped her discover her passion. Her involvement with Student Ambassadors, MYARC, and her work as a patient care technician at Middlesex Hospital shaped her commitment to staying engaged and making the most of every opportunity. Her love of softball led her to Elms College, where she initially pursued a degree in Nursing.

During her clinical rotations, however, Catharine realized that nursing was not the right fit. While her goal of helping others remained unchanged, her approach evolved from clinical care to administration. She pivoted by changing her major to Healthcare and Business, later securing a role as a Program Coordinator in the Tumor Imaging Metrics Core at Mass General Hospital. After being promoted to Lead Coordinator, she went on to earn her Master of Healthcare Administration from Suffolk University in 2022.

Today, Catharine serves as Practice Director at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where she oversees infusion clinical operations and leads a team of eight clinic coordinators. The clinic specializes in head and neck, genitourinary, palliative care, and cancer diagnostics. She shared that one of the most rewarding aspects of her role is balancing patient interaction with the operational side of healthcare.

Catharine’s message about embracing new pathways to achieve your goals resonated strongly with students. Her journey highlights the importance of self-discovery, adaptability, and the courage to pursue a different direction when needed.

Thank you, Catharine, for spending time with Mercy students and inspiring them to confidently pursue their passion!
