Pamela Davis Steele is a 1972 alumna of Mercy high School and was recently highlighted in the Summer 2020 issue of Women of Mercy magazine. She is married to Roosevelt Steele and has three children. She has worked in various industries from food service where she managed her grandfather’s restaurant to aerospace where she worked various positions at Pratt & Whitney for 25 years to the public sector where she was the Assistant Town Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics.

Pamela has served positions in many organizations, such as NAACP co-chair Freedom Fund Committee, Board of Directors for Oddfellows Playhouse, Mercy High School Alumnae officer and president and Pratt & Whitney Professional Advisor Program, among others and is Executive Board and Chair of the Middletown Arts & Culture Commission. Pamela is also a member of Unit 206 American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose Chapter 2296. She serves as a musician for St. James Episcopal Church in Higganum and the choir director for the Vision Choir (Children’s choir) at Cross Street AME Zion Church in Middletown.

Upon her retirement, she pursued her dream of being an entrepreneur and opened Pamela Roose Specialty Handknits & Yarn in Middletown, CT, in 2010. In addition to carrying a selection of high-quality yarns and an assortment of knitting needles, crochet hooks, and notions, patterns, magazines & books, she offers lessons and accepts commission work.
